About Margo and Galloping to Greatness

Margo has worked with people with disabilities and their family members for more than 25 years as a professional caregiver/counselor/trainer and has spent a number of years as a personal caregiver for family members. This has given her a unique understanding of the challenges and obstacles faced by caregivers both at work and at home. She has realized that caregivers are an often forgotten and even invisible part of society and has made it her mission to care for caregivers by helping them find balance and healing with the help of her equine partners.

Having had a lifetime love of horses Margo began her journey working directly with them in 2001 as a volunteer at a therapeutic horseback riding center. It was there she first recognized the powerful healing abilities of her equine companions. Through direct contact with the horses, not only those who rode, but also their parents and caregivers received tremendous benefits.

In 2010, Margo received her Life Coaching certification from Fowler Wainwright International and immediately set about finding a way to combine the healing power of coaching with the healing power of horses. This led her to Melisa Pearce, internationally known horsewoman, clinician and owner of Touched By A Horse (R). Margo completed an 18 month program with Melisa and is certified in the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method (TM).

Margo has extensive knowledge of and experience in meditation techniques and facilitation, self hypnosis, energy healing modalities and personal development. She is a level 1 Reiki practitioner and holds a degree in psychology from St. John’s University. She currently serves on the board and has served as past president of the board for Family Counseling Services. She is CEO and founder of Galloping to Greatness and Assistant Director and co-founder of Hold Your Horses Therapeutic Riding Center.
